An informal poll in the centre of Bath run by campaign group Bath for Europe has shown that those who took part are dissatisfied with Brexit so far, and are in support of a “People’s Vote”.
The Remain campaigners from the Bath for Europe group were out and about in the sunshine over the weekend, polling the general public about Brexit.
At their weekly street stall in the centre of Bath, the group introduced its new “Brexitometer”, inviting passersby to give their views on the Brexit process so far and whether they’d support a “People’s Vote” on the final Brexit deal.
In the informal poll, the public indicated overwhelmingly that they thought Brexit was bad for the NHS, the economy and the UK’s standing in the world and that negotiations were going badly. The respondents also supported the People’s Vote initiative.
Bath for Europe is a non-party-political group of volunteers, affiliated to Britain for Europe, campaigning for the UK to remain at the heart of the European Union.
The People’s Vote initiative was launched in April 2018 by a cross-party group of MPs and the actor, Patrick Stewart, who declared that his Star Trek and X-Men characters Jean-Luc Picard and Professor Xavier would have voted Remain.
