The Prime Minister Theresa May made a trip to Bath yesterday afternoon, to visit a local manufacturer, as part of her ongoing campaign trail ahead of the General Election next Thursday.

Mrs May visited Odd Down-based Cross Manufacturing, an independently run business employing over 400 people.

The former Home Secretary discussed funding, issues surrounding Brexit and also the reasons behind her not joining yesterday evening’s debate on the BBC.

A large crowd, believed to be over 200, assembled on the streets outside the factory on Midford Road in Bath, awaiting Theresa May’s arrival with placards and megaphones, to protest against a variety of issues including the NHS, funding cuts and local topics including Bath’s Central Library and the East of Bath Park & Ride.
Members of the local Labour, Green and Liberal Democrat parties were also spotted in the crowds of protestors.

The location of Theresa May’s visit yesterday afternoon was a closely guarded secret, but was quickly spread on social media following a ‘leak’ on Tuesday evening.

Crowds are reported to have chanted “Come out, we’ve showered, give us half an hour”, “Tories Out, Corbyn In”, “Hunt Tories, not foxes” and “Let June be the end of May”.
