Ben Howlett, the new Bath MP, has this week moved into his new office in Charles Street, and has supported local charities by purchasing second hand furniture from them.
Ben who is an active supporter of many local charities was determined to keep the costs down in his new office and support local charities at the same time.
He has therefore furnished large parts of the office with the help of Bath based charities the Genesis Trust and Mercy in Action.
Ben said: “It is great to have a proper base in Bath and I am delighted that I have been able to work with local charities and use second hand furniture as far as possible in the new office.”
“It is important to reduce waste and reusing and recycling is a great step in the right direction, when doing that also helps charities reach out to the vulnerable in society simultaneously it is the kind of win win situation I aim to achieve during my time as the Member of Parliament for Bath.”
“I was very keen to ensure my office was separated from the Conservative Association as I want to ensure I represent everyone in Bath, regardless of their political persuasion, I aspire to be the MP for Bath, not the Conservative MP for Bath.”
Ben is holding summer surgeries for constituents at his new office on Friday 7th and 28th August.
Appointments need to be booked in advance, which can be done by calling the office on 01225 311422 and speaking with Selaine Saxby, Ben’s Office Manager.
