Bath-based housing association Curo is holding a community drop-in event today, Monday 24th November, for people to find out about plans for more than 50 “affordable” new homes at Timsbury.

The new neighbourhood is proposed on land north of Lansdown Crescent, a site already allocated for development in the current Bath & North East Somerset (B&NES) Local Plan.

Curo is proposing to include the land which contains the garage block on Lansdown Crescent to improve views into the site, introducing a green frontage in place of the concrete forecourt.

The proposals are for 54 new homes, with a mix of one and two-bedroom maisonettes and two to four-bedroom houses for social rent and shared ownership.

The plans also include around two acres of public open space within the Local Green Space in the eastern part of the site, with play and recreation areas, wildflower planting and a community orchard.

Access to the site will be off Lansdown Crescent and the scheme will incorporate the existing public right of way through the site. New walking routes will also follow the site’s edges.

People will be able to view the plans and ask questions about early proposals at today’s drop-in session at Conygre Hall in North Road between 3pm and 7pm.

Curo’s head of affordable development, Francesca Topazio, said: “We want these homes to reflect local priorities and to be a project the community can be proud of.”

Anyone unable to attend can view the proposals and provide feedback at www.curotimsbury.co.uk.

The deadline for providing feedback is midday on Monday 8th December.
