A new removable Cross that enables the congregation to see views across open green fields is now in place at Bath’s Haycombe Crematorium.
The Cross – made of clear acrylic – works in harmony with the view from the window across the Valley and means that, if requested, the cross could be removed from the window for non-faith services.
It was designed and manufactured by local firm SF Furniture.
Councillor David Dixon (Lib-Dem, Oldfield), Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods, said: “The Crematorium has undergone significant improvements made by Bath & North East Somerset Council recently.
“The expertly designed Cross adds to the peaceful surroundings in the Chapel and will be used for generations to come to celebrate the lives of family and friends.”
The Council has worked closely with a stakeholder group to help them choose a new design for their window cross in the Crematorium.
