Police are continuing an appeal for witnesses to a collision near Bath over the weekend after the motorcyclist involved died in hospital from his injuries.
The serious road traffic collision happened on the A368 at Chelwood to the west of Bath at 6.50am on Sunday 20th July and involved a car and a motorcycle.
On Monday morning, police were told that the motorcyclist had died in hospital on Sunday evening.
His family are being supported by a specially trained family liaison officer.
The investigation into the collision is continuing and officers are still appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision to contact them on 101.
In particular, they’d like to speak to the driver of a blue Ford Kuga as it was travelling in the area at the time.
A silver coloured Audi A4 was travelling from Blagdon towards Chelwood Bridge when it was involved in a collision with the motorcycle travelling in the opposite direction.
The motorcyclist received life threatening injuries and was taken to Southmead Hospital, where he later died.
The 31-year-old driver of the car failed a roadside breath test and was arrested.
He has been released on police bail, pending further enquiries.
The family have said they do not want any details of the victim made public.
