Bloor Homes is celebrating after winning two LABC Building Excellence regional awards for its Fortescue Fields development in Norton St Philip.

The awards recognise excellence in design, construction and workmanship as well as celebrating the innovative and creative approaches housebuilders have taken.

Bloor Homes was awarded the top accolade by Mendip District Council in the Best Public Service Building category for the development’s convenience store and Best Commercial Development for the stunning marketing suite.

Both buildings have been carefully designed and built to be sympathetic with the local architectural style.

Michele Rose, Sales Director at Bloor Homes, commented: “Fortescue Fields is a unique development and it is not the first time it has been recognised with accolades.

“We’re delighted to have received these LABC Building Excellence awards, which are a true testament to the quality design and build offered by Bloor Homes.”

The LABC Building Excellence awards span England and Wales and celebrate the essence of good buildings.

Winners must demonstrate technical excellence, innovation, green and sustainable building quality, team working and creative solutions. Following regional qualifiers, the awards culminate in the grand finals at an autumn ceremony in London.

Fortescue Fields, in the village of Norton St Philip near Bath, offers both the quality of life afforded by rural living yet is conveniently placed for the city and commuting further afield.

Set in the picturesque Somerset hills, each building at Fortescue Fields has been designed in different historic styles to create a varied and characterful street scene, in-keeping with the traditional architecture of the area.
