The Forever Friends Appeal’s Movie by Moonlight is returning to Royal Victoria Park in Bath on Bank Holiday Sunday 30th August, with the public being invited to watch Mamma Mia.
Members of the public are being invited to put the date in their diaries for an evening of fun and entertainment under the stars with this year’s outdoor film screening of Mamma Mia (certificate PG).
Complete signage solutions company, Freestyle Designs, based on the Windsor Bridge in Bath has been announced as lead corporate sponsor for this popular annual event organised by the Royal United Hospital’s Forever Friends Appeal.
Entry to the event is free, with all funds raised on the night going towards the RUH Cancer Care Campaign – to help build a pioneering new Cancer Centre for the Hospital.
The film starts at approximately 8.30pm (or when it gets dark), but people are encouraged to arrive early to secure a good spot.
Food outlets will be available on site and the Appeal team recommend bringing warm clothes and a torch for later in the evening.
Jayson Godridge set up Freestyle Designs just over 7 years ago and has worked closely with The Forever Friends Appeal since then, producing vehicle graphics, event banners, charity display boards and even the most recent bespoke flowers for the Appeal’s ‘Flower to Remember’ scheme.
Jayson is therefore thrilled to now be sponsoring the Appeal’s popular outdoor film screening event.
Jayson, Managing Director, said: “As a local company, we have always been very proud to support a local Charity.
“Over the years we have worked with and helped the team at The Forever Friends Appeal through various signage and display projects, so it’s an honour to be able to do more, by being given the opportunity to support an event like this.”
Events & Community Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal, Emily Lynch said: “The Movie is one of our most popular annual events – we are therefore just so pleased that Freestyle Designs have signed up to be our lead Movie by Moonlight sponsor this year as it is essential in helping us cover the costs of putting on such a large scale event.
“Our gratitude also goes to Filmair Mobile Cinema Services for enabling us to hold this popular annual event.
“Last year saw our biggest crowd yet turn out for Grease, raising over an incredible £7,000 for a new Cancer Centre at the RUH.
“So don’t miss out on another night to remember, and we look forward to seeing what amazing 70’s inspired fancy dress costumes turn up on the night!”
All funds raised at the event will go towards the RUH Cancer Care Campaign to help build an exceptional new Cancer Centre for cancer patients at the Royal United Hospital in Bath.
Each year the RUH cares for 2,200 new cancer patients from the hospital’s extensive catchment area.
The clinical care is amongst the best in the UK, but the cancer unit facilities are outdated and uncomfortable, and do not provide patients with the positive environment necessary to support the healing process.
The hospital’s vision is to build a Cancer Centre which will balance clinical expertise with the provision of a nurturing and therapeutic environment.
Emily continued: “This year the Appeal are very grateful to Bath Party Shop of Moorland Road for kindly donating some great 70’s costumes for our staff to be able to promote the movie.
“This year we are encouraging anyone planning to come along to Movie by Moonlight to pay a visit to Bath Party Shop to buy 70’s inspired outfits for the event – 10% of all proceeds will go to the RUH Cancer Care Campaign and there will be a spot prize for the best dressed boy and girl on the night!”
