A free prize draw for staff at the Royal United Hospital has been organised by local company M J Church to help show them just how much the community appreciates their work.

The special draw, which will run throughout the month of April, is open to all RUH employees, and staff are being invited to enter themselves and/or nominate a colleague to be in with the chance to win.

Top prizes include a weekend in a house in Devon, afternoon tea at the Royal Crescent Hotel, a family Season ticket for Bowood, Sunday lunch for 2 with overnight stay at the Hartnoll Hotel, Bath Rugby tickets and much more.

Paula Church, Director at M J Church said: “Every year we have put on a charity fundraising event for the RUH.

“With the arrival of COVID we have been unable to do this for 2 years running.  This has meant a loss of tens of thousands of pounds to the RUH that we have not been able to raise and donate.

“So we decided this year we would do something totally different TO SAY A BIG THANK YOU!”

“The community and local businesses have been so generous with their donations and we feel it is a great way to say thank you to all the staff at the RUH for what they do on a daily basis and how they have all gone above and beyond in these extremely difficult times.”

Jo Common, Corporate Officer for The Forever Friends Appeal added: “Our RUH family is made up of Doctors, nurses, therapists, cleaner, porters and thousands of other dedicated staff that help keep our hospital going and saving lives.

“The last year has seen all our RUH staff working under intense pressure in difficult circumstances to care for our patients.

“Our staff are physically and emotionally exhausted but they are still there for us and our loved ones, every day.

“Paula and the M J Church team have supported our hospital for many years now, and the pandemic has resulted in the annual M J Church race day being postponed in both in 2020 and 2021.

“We were therefore just delighted when Paula approached us with this idea to instead do something lovely for our staff, and help put some smiles on their faces after what has been an incredibly challenging year!

“We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Paula and the team at M J Church for organising such a wonderful treat for our staff, as well as all members of our local community who have so generously donated the selection of prizes that are on offer.”
