The Bath & North East Somerset Health and Wellbeing Board will be coming together on Tuesday 17th April 2018, with dementia services being one of the main topics of the meeting.
The Health and Wellbeing Board will be receiving an overview of dementia services and support in Bath & North East Somerset and information on the Social Care Campaign, from the Alzheimer’s Society.
This will be an opportunity for partners to understand the key issues surrounding dementia in the area and identify where the Health & Wellbeing Partners can get involved.
As part of the meeting, the Health and Wellbeing Board will also be discussing a request to consider adopting a statement of intent about improving health and wellbeing through natural capital assets.
Connecting people with the environment to improve health and wellbeing is a key objective of the Government’s 25-year environment plan.
The plan calls for the NHS, Local Authorities and environmental organisations to work together to help people to improve their health and wellbeing by using green spaces; including through green prescribing and making green spaces available.
Dr Ian Orpen, Co-Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board and Clinical Chair of NHS Bath and North East Somerset Clinical Commissioning Group said: “The Board are interested to hear from the South West Local Nature Partnership to understand more about the proposed actions that can be developed on improving health and wellbeing through natural capital assets.”
Members of the public are invited to attend the Health and Wellbeing Board meeting, which will take place from 10.30am – 12.30pm on Tuesday 17th April in the Brunswick Room of the Guildhall in Bath.
