A cow has been rescued from the Kelston Mill Marina by firefighters from Bath’s Fire Station, after it got into difficulty in the water late on Tuesday evening.
Crews attended at 22.45 on Tuesday after the animal was reported to be in the marina which is popular with pleasure boats.
Firefighters trained in animal rescue from Bath and Bedminster Fire Stations made their way to the scene in order to move the cow to safety.
Crews were able to attach a harness to the cow’s head and the service’s safety boat was then used to lead the animal around 200 metres upstream where it was able to be walked up the riverbank.
The animal was uninjured in the incident.
