The Royal High School has been named by the International Baccalaureate Organisation as one of the top 3 schools in the country for pupils’ academic achievement of small cohort, independent schools.
Recognised for its success in 2017, girls studying the International Baccalaureate at the Royal High averaged a score of 37 out of 45 with the highest achieving student gaining 43 points out of 45.
Smashing the global average of 30 points, the school’s IB Co-ordinator Ms Jude Taylor said: “We are the only school in Bath to offer the IB and we are incredibly proud to receive the certificate recognising the hard work and achievement of our girls.
“With 10 RHS students gaining Oxbridge interviews this year, 5 of these are IB students with the popularity of the sixth form choice continuing to grow in popularity amongst our sixth formers.”
The Royal High School has offered the IB since 2008 alongside A Levels.
Extensive guidance is offered at the school to students including a well received ‘Any Questions’ event which is also open to local schools.
