This February, pupils from across Bath & North East Somerset will once again be attending Green Vision’s Youth Climate Summit hosted by Kingswood School.
The Summit this year is fully booked by 80 young people from a number of schools in the B&NES area.
This two day event includes talks by a fantastic range of speakers. They will be covering a wide variety of topics, often in a style similar to the popular talks at TEDx events.
This will be interspersed with interactive workshops and a world café session in which the participants will tackle some key questions leading to stimulating discussions.
There will be many diverse opportunities for the delegates to share their own ideas about how they as individuals and a group can make a difference in our society, and what positive action they can carry forward from the event.
Some of our speakers and topics this year include Piers Taylor on sustainable architecture, Su Hart from Baka Beyond, and CEO of the WDC Chris Butler-Stroud on whale and dolphin conservation.
The summit will also have some more hands-on optional workshops available such as raw chocolate making, building a bug house, and working with hedgehogs.
In addition, they are once again collaborating with engineering firm Buro-Happold on their CReATE competition, which will be judged during the Summit.
This year’s event will be the last to be hosted at Kingswood School and the organisers are hoping that it will once again be an enjoyable and thought-provoking experience for everyone involved.
