New research has revealed that the South West has the lowest crime rate in the UK, with Bath being one of the safest cities for higher education study.
Bath Spa University was ranked in the top ten per cent safest cities out of 128 institutions.
The research, conducted by the Complete University Guide, uses official police data to assess crime rates for the most relevant offences affecting students across universities and higher education institutions in England and Wales.
The Complete University Guide provides a clear picture of the best and worst cities for student-related crimes.
It takes three offences into consideration: burglary, robbery and violence, and ranks universities on the cumulative rate of all three crimes occurring over a twelve month period in areas where students live during term time.
A full breakdown of results can be found on the Complete University Guides website.
