A talented Bath College Creative Media Production & Technology Student, Saga El Banna, has showcased her work at ‘Origins’, a creative arts festival run by awarding body UAL.
The exhibition was at the esteemed Bargehouse in Oxo Tower Wharf, London, held between 3rd – 5th August 2018.
The festival showcased a range of painting, drawing, sculpture, video and fashion, complemented by a programme of music and performing arts, all created and performed by pre-degree level students.
Saga’s work displayed was ‘21st Teens’, a fashion magazine that presents the relationship between fashion and self-expression for 21st Century teenagers.
The Creative Media Production and Technology course at the College introduces students to the world of designing and publishing, leading to a UAL Level 2 Media Award.
At the end of the course, students will have gained the skills to be able to progress their own publications.
Jo Dolby, Lecturer in Media, Arts & Creative Enterprise at Bath College commented that: “I was so incredibly proud to see one of our students’ work at the Origins exhibition.”
She added: “Well done Saga – big things are in your future!”
Saga was delighted to have had her work be picked for the Origins festival: “I never thought I would reach something like that and see my work in an exhibition and I never thought someone would call me an artist.
“College made me more confident thanks to the teachers and staff. I believe that I always can improve and be better at things with hard work and experience.
“The things that I want to do next is to improve and try new things that I am passionate about. All of this is thanks to my beautiful parents and teachers who helped me to believe in myself.”
