Delays After Person Hit By Train Near Bath Spa Station

There are a number of delays on services through Bath Spa station this morning, after a person was hit by a train between Bath and Bristol earlier this morning.

Emergency services are currently dealing with the incident near Bath Spa, which means journeys are being delayed by up to 60 minutes between Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa.

There is no firm estimate yet of how long disruption will last but it is likely to continue until at least 8am.

Trains are currently having to run at reduced speed on all lines.

Services running through these stations may be cancelled, delayed by up to 60 mins or diverted.

Replacement road transport has been requested to operate between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon in both directions, and is also running from Bristol, Bath, Westbury and Chippenham.

First Somerset and Avon services are conveying passengers between Bristol Temple Meads and Swindon / Westbury in both directions.

Arrangements have been made for First Great Western rail tickets to be accepted on bus numbers: 15, 18, X39, 184, 178, 267, 271, 272, 319, 338, 339, 264, 265, 231, 232, 234, 178 and 349.

A number of services from Bath Spa have already been cancelled, including the 07.35 to Bristol Temple Meads and the 09.07 to London Waterloo.
