Police are this week urging parents to warn their children of the dangers of going into derelict buildings after a spate of incidents in the Bath & North East Somerset area.

Neighbourhood officers say they have seen a rise in young people entering derelict buildings across the B&NES area in the name of “exploration”.

They say: “These buildings are dangerous with large amounts of broken glass and insecure pieces of masonry.

“Please speak to your children and advise them that, should they be inside these properties causing damage, they could be subjects for burglary offences.”
