Avon and Somerset Police are appealing for information about a collision on the A403 at Aust in South Gloucestershire yesterday evening (Tuesday 3rd November) in which a cyclist was killed.
The 20-year-old man, from Thornbury, was found by the side of the road near the junction of Old Passage and Aust village at around 6.45pm.
He was declared dead at the scene. The road was closed until 11pm.
Collision investigators think that the cyclist was struck by a lorry. They have traced a vehicle they believe was involved and have spoken to the driver, a 55-year-old man from Bath.
They now want to hear from any drivers on the A403 from around 6.15pm who may have seen a cyclist riding from Aust towards Avonmouth, or who have any information about a possible collision.
The road was busy at that time of day.
Anyone with information is asked to call the police Collision Investigation Unit on 101 quoting reference number CI/244/15.
