Avon and Somerset PCC Mark Shelford has thanked local people who volunteer to support the work of the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner.
A special reception was held on Thursday 14th April at Police Headquarters and volunteers attended from the Independent Residents Panel, Independent Scrutiny of Police Powers Panel, Out of Court Disposals Panel as well as the Independent Custody Visitors.
Attendees were treated to tea and cake, and the event provided a long-overdue opportunity for the PCC to thank volunteers directly for the role that they all play in improving accountability and public confidence in policing.
PCC Mark Shelford said: “It was brilliant to meet with our volunteers and thank them for all their hard work.
“The volunteers’ adaptability and willingness to still provide an excellent service despite challenges relating to the pandemic has not gone unnoticed.
“I look forward to continuing to work with our volunteers as they support me in ensuring Avon and Somerset Police is efficient, effective and legitimate.”
