Two people were rushed to hospital after the incident near the Sainsbury’s petrol station in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The man and woman were taken to the Royal United Hospital in Weston for treatment, with their injuries described as serious but not life changing.

They were released from hospital shortly afterwards.

The man is 33-years-old and received a head injury, and the woman is 29-years-old and suffered injuries to her cheek and arm.
