More than £4,000 has been raised by shoppers at SouthGate Bath for the official charity of the Royal United Hospital, RUHX.

The funds were raised through an interactive snow globe based at the shopping centre across the festive period, with members of the public able to activate a snowstorm and capture a winter selfie in return for a donation of £2.

The centre selected RUHX as one of its charity partners for 2023/24.

A further £2,259 has been donated throughout the year to the centre’s charity partners through a Giving Box located in SouthGate Place, where customers can use contactless payment to easily donate.

As the official NHS Charity for the Royal United Hospitals Bath NHS Foundation, RUHX provides care to patients throughout Bath, helps to develop innovation within hospitals, and offers support to those wanting to live healthier, happier lives, ultimately reducing the pressure on local hospitals by empowering positive change.

Guy Henderson, centre director at SouthGate Bath, said: “RUHX carries out incredible work, offering vital support to people across Bath when they need it most.

“We’re proud to be able to support them in their fantastic work and want to thank everyone that donated and contributed to our amazing total.”

Those visiting SouthGate Bath can continue to donate to RUHX, alongside other local charities including Off The Record Bath and North East Somerset, The Lily Foundation and The Nest Project, via the centre’s Giving Box.
