The newest local provider of high-speed fibre optic broadband for the area is set to host a special public event in Peasedown St John with the village’s Residents’ Association.

TrueSpeed provides ultrafast internet connectivity via a fibre optic link directly to your home or business premises.

They have started work in Peasedown St John with a new connection box being installed in Wellow Lane.

Neil Rogers, TrueSpeed Community Engagement Manager for the Somer Valley, said: “TrueSpeed is at the technical forefront of data communications in the UK and the world.

“Our Fibre-To-The- Property installations offer fast, reliable and state of the art internet connection. We offer speeds from 200Mb/s to 10Gb/s.

“We are a modern, flexible and agile company, founded by farsighted and exciting technologists, visionaries and business people, all of whom bring a breadth of commercial, technical and service led acumen, delivering the best possible customer experience.”

The organisation has been working with B&NES Council on its new Community Libraries initiative.

Geoff Fenton, Vice-Chairman of Peasedown St John Residents’ Association, said: “We met up with Neil and the team at TrueSpeed recently to discuss plans to install their internet at St John’s Community Hall.

“The Hall currently hosts a number of community groups, a new play-group and will soon be home to Peasedown’s new community library.

“We’re discussing with TrueSpeed the option of providing a free internet service for any users of the Hall and the Library.”

The internet provider’s current residential package delivers speeds of 200Mb/s, for both download and upload.

All of their services are considerably faster, safer and future proofed than copper based broadband products.

Locals who are interested in trying out a new a broadband provider in Peasedown St John should pop along to St John’s Community Hall on Wednesday 13th February, 1pm – 3pm to meet TrueSpeed staff and ask questions. Tea, coffee and refreshments will be provided.

St John’s Community Hall is in St John’s Close, Peasedown St John, BA2 8JG (next to Albert Avenue).
