A free event for local groups and organisations to showcase what they are doing to tackle the climate emergency is being held by Keynsham Town Council on Saturday 14th March.

Councillor Sarah Warren, cabinet member for Climate Emergency at Bath & North East Somerset Council, is encouraging residents to attend the showcase at The Space in Keynsham and find out practical ways they can make a difference on a local and global level.
The town is bringing together organisations that cover a broad range of sustainable living themes, including Keynsham Wombles, Keynsham Community Energy and Plastic Free Keynsham.
Keynsham in Bloom will be on hand to talk about biodiversity and opportunities to volunteer and Keynsham Repair Café will also be running its monthly repair session on the day at The Space.
All the organisations attending will showcase how they are taking positive action through initiatives such as zero waste shopping, waste reduction, plastic and litter pollution, and advice on how to make your home energy efficient and use renewable energy.
Councillor Sarah Warren said: “I wholeheartedly welcome Keynsham Town Council’s initiative in showcasing the action that is taking place in the town to tackle the climate and nature emergency.
“We need collective community effort to support the radical system change that is required, so sharing the practical ways we can all make a difference is vital.
“I’d encourage residents to come along to this event and find out how they can shop local, create better habitats for native wildlife, use less single-use plastic and save money in their pocket too.”
The event will take place on Saturday 14 March from 10am to 4pm at The Space, Keynsham Library, Market Walk, Keynsham. Entry is free.
