Bath City Farm in Southdown is launching a new programme of nature, food and farming workshops aimed at tackling the issues of climate, food and cost of living.

The farm’s 37-acre site is abundant with wildlife habitats, growing spaces and community facilities, making it an ideal location for individuals to develop their knowledge and skills in nature and food-focused subjects.

Bath City Farm is welcoming individuals who are interested in connecting with animals, plants, wildlife, and people to join the workshops and share knowledge and experiences.

The topics for the workshops include Fermenting, Hedgelaying, Edible Forest Gardening and Flower Arranging.

Over the next few months, the charity has lined up a range of workshops.

The programme includes Edible Forest Gardening with Sid Hill on 6th May, Medicinal Herbs in Spring with Helen from Malago Medicinals on 27th May, Forage and Feast on 10th June, Flower Arranging with Jude, the Community Grower, and talented volunteers on 8th July, Natural Pest Control with Chris Smith from Pennard Plants on a date to be confirmed, Introduction to Chicken Keeping with Joe, the Livestock Coordinator, on 9th September, and Medicinal Herbs in late Summer/early Autumn with Helen from Malago Medicinals on 14th October.

Those interested can purchase tickets for the workshops and get full details, including the workshop schedules and locations, by visiting the website here.

Alternatively, people can call the farm on 01225 481269 or email [email protected].

Alison Howell, Communications and Development Lead at Bath City Farm said: ” We’re really excited to be launching this new programme of workshops across the Farm, in response to the cost of living, food and climate crises.

“The Farm and its community has a wealth of knowledge which we are keen to pass on and share. Do check out our programme of courses and workshops on our website and come and learn something new.”
