Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle incident at around 7.15pm, on the New Bridge over the River Avon.

The driver of the Land Rover Discovery collided with a wall on the opposite side of the bridge.

The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations took place, reopening at around 3am this morning, Monday 9th June.

Multiple emergency crews attended the scene, as did the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance helicopter and a crew from the Great Western Air Ambulance.

Firefighters had to rescue two of the occupants from the car.
