One of the occupants in a vehicle involved in a collision on the A4 Newbridge Road in Bath yesterday evening, Sunday 8th June, sustained potentially life-changing injuries, police have said.

Emergency services were called to the single-vehicle incident at around 7.15pm, on the New Bridge over the River Avon.
The driver of the Land Rover Discovery collided with a wall on the opposite side of the bridge.
The road was closed for around eight hours while investigations took place, reopening at around 3am this morning, Monday 9th June.
Multiple emergency crews attended the scene, as did the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance helicopter and a crew from the Great Western Air Ambulance.
Firefighters had to rescue two of the occupants from the car.

The Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance flew from a field next to the site to Southmead Hospital in Bristol, the region’s Major Trauma Centre.
A spokesperson for Avon Fire & Rescue Service said: “We were called at 7.15pm on Sunday 8th June by police to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle on Newbridge Road, Bath.
“Firefighters from Bath Fire Station rescued two people from the car, and one was transported to hospital via air ambulance.”
A statement from South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 19:11hrs on Sunday 8th June to a road traffic collision in Bath.

“We sent four double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a critical care car to the scene.
“We conveyed four patients by land ambulances to hospital.”
Avon & Somerset Police said: “Officers reported to a single-vehicle collision in Newbridge Road, in Bath, yesterday (Sunday 8 June).
“Four people have been taken to hospital, one of whom has sustained injuries which are believed to be life changing.
“An investigation into the collision was conducted overnight and the road was closed in both directions from Apsley Road to the junction with the A4.
“It was reopened at around 3am.”
A spokesperson for Great Western Air Ambulance Charity said: “Our crew were tasked to an incident in Bath at 19:11 on Sunday 8 June. They responded by critical care car with a Critical Care Doctor and Specialist Paramedic on board.
“They treated a patient on scene, before ground-escorting them to hospital for further treatment.”
