Bath & North East Somerset Council is to offer a limited number of discounted parking permits in the centre of Bath for zero emissions vehicles, available from Monday 1st April.

The limited number of parking permits will be available at a reduced cost on a first come first served basis.

The discount scheme is being funded by a £240,000 government grant designed to promote zero and Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) uptake in advance of the introduction of a Clean Air Zone in the city centre.

Customers will be able to purchase them online via MiPermit by visiting: www.wanttopark.com/bathnes.

Once a customer has entered their vehicle registration number, the system will automatically check to see whether the vehicle is eligible for a Zero Emissions Vehicle Discount.

If one is available customers will be given the option to select the discounted permit or apply for one at the standard charge.

Customers who opt to receive the discount for their zero emission vehicle will not be permitted to change the vehicle registered against their permit.

If customers require a permit that can be used with more than one vehicle, they should purchase a permit at the standard charge.

The reduced cost scheme forms part of a range of local incentives to encourage the use of zero emission and ultra low emission vehicles across Bath and North East Somerset, including the expansion of a network of dedicated charging points across the authority.
