An experienced charity fundraiser for national and local charities including Action for Children, The Rainbow Centre for Children and NSPCC has joined the Quartet Community Foundation.
Angela Emms has joined the foundation as their new Philanthropy Executive for B&NES.
Angela will work alongside Claire Wynne Hughes in Quartet’s Bath office in Northgate House.
The two part-time team members will continue Quartet’s work connecting B&NES based philanthropists with local charitable causes.
Ms Emms went into charity work after she graduated from the University of Bath.
Angela said: “It’s so exciting to join Quartet as they celebrate a record-breaking year for grant-making. Looking at how local organisations respond to and recover from the impact of the Covid-19 crisis means the need for philanthropic funds to support our small, local causes has never been more pressing.
“I’m fortunate to know many local charities through the Bath Fundraisers group and I look forward to meeting many more and being the bridge to our wonderful fund holders in the B&NES area.”
Quartet work with local philanthropists to support the network of charitable causes across the West of England.
Last year they awarded 984 grants worth over £3.9m to small, local causes.
Their Coronavirus Response Fund has supported 40 charitable groups in B&NES including Age UK B&NES, Julian House and Keynsham Foodbank.
They continue to support the COVID response through their Express Grant Programme.
A new grant programme launched in July is offering Coronavirus Recovery and Stabilisation grants to help small, local causes survive the pandemic.
So far, Quartet Community Foundation has supported eight B&NES projects through this new grant programme including Bath & District Citizen Advice and Bath City Farm.
