Nurseries, schools and colleges across Bath, Somerset and Wiltshire are being invited to take part in an exclusive fundraising event called Pounds for Patients on Friday 13th October.
Pounds for Patients is organised by The Forever Friends Appeal, the primary charity for the Royal United Hospitals Bath.
The event is flexible for everyone; pupils, teachers and parents. Schools simply decide how they want to fundraise on the day and everyone who participants donates £1.
All proceeds raised go towards helping the RUH continue to deliver the best possible care to its patients and their families.
Emily Lynch, Events and Community Officer, The Forever Friends Appeal said: “We wanted to create an event that is affordable for everyone and we would love to have as many nurseries, schools and colleges join us on the day.
“It’s up to the schools to decide how they fundraise, whether they have a fancy dress day, organise a teddy bears picnic, or run a baking competition.”
The schools who take part can choose to either raise funds for the hospital’s main Cancer Care Campaign or RNHRD & Therapies Campaign or raise funds for a ward or department of their choice.
Emily continued: “If you would like your nursery, school or college to take part in Pounds for Patients, simply sign up on our website and in return you’ll receive our fundraising pack, full of creative ideas on how you can raise funds for the RUH.
“Plus, ‘Big Ted’, our friendly, loveable mascot for The Forever Friends Appeal may even pay your nursery or school a visit and there’ll be other prizes to be won on the day.”
