The B&NES Wellness Service – delivered by Everyone Health on behalf of Bath & North East Somerset Council – is taking the drop-in van on the road from 9th to 13th March to coincide with National No Smoking Day on Wednesday 11th March.

The team will offer stop smoking support, health coaching and heart health check-ups, including blood pressure testing, free of charge.

Becky Reynolds, Director of Public Health and Prevention, said: “National No Smoking Day is a fantastic opportunity to take that important first step to quitting and the mobile van will make it easier than ever for residents to drop in and get help in a convenient local setting.

“Whether you need advice, encouragement, or practical tools to help you quit, our team is here to support you every step of the way.”

The van will be visiting locations across the area between 10am and 4pm:

  • Tuesday 10th March: Tesco Car Park, 3 Bristol Road, Keynsham, BS31 2BA
  • Wednesday 11th March: Mulberry Park Hub, Combe Down, Bath, BA2 5BU
  • Thursday 12th March: Morrisons Car Park, York Place, Bath, BA1 6AE
  • Friday 13th March: University of Bath Car Park, Manvers Street, BA1 1JW

Smokers who live, work or are registered with a GP in Bath & North East Somerset can also access a range of free support, including the Smoke Free app for 24/7 help and motivation.

Adult smokers can join the swap to stop programme and receive a free vape starter kit by emailing [email protected]

Support is also available through the local stop smoking team by texting ‘quit’ to 60777, calling freephone 0300 247 0050 or emailing [email protected], as well as speaking to a GP.

As part of wider National No Smoking Day activity, the B&NES Wellness Service is also supporting a national Quitathon, encouraging people to set a quit date on or before 11th March and receive structured support. Residents can contact the Everyone Health Wellness Service on 0300 247 0050 for more information.
