Bath-based homeless charity Julian House are inviting the public to join them on the popular Circuit of Bath Walk on Sunday 25th September.

The event involves walking part, or all, of a spectacular circular route around the edge of the city.

The route has been carefully selected so that walkers can enjoy some stunning scenery as well as wonderful views across Bath.

Upper Swainswick, Solsbury Hill, Bathampton, Monkton Combe, Southstoke and Englishcombe are just a few of the highlights.

The terrain is a mixture of well-used paths and public rights of way, limited sections of roadway, flat ground and, of course hills.

Although the whole route is 20 miles, participants can choose to do anything between 2 -20 miles, thanks to a unique shuttle bus service that runs between the 5 checkpoints making it a very family friendly event.

Everybody who completes the whole 20 mile route will be rewarded with a special medal.

This route not only enjoys stunning views but is also steeped with local history and mystery. Participants are able to purchase a booklet, describing some interesting snippets of local history, which has been researched and written by local historian Kirsten Elliott.

There are 5 checkpoints to start from and participants can walk in either a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction, often walking for miles without seeing another person.

The event is free to enter and participants are asked to raise sponsorship which will help Julian House to maintain and develop its projects supporting homeless and excluded individuals.

More information about the Circuit of Bath Walk, including online registration, can be found here: http://www.julianhouse.org.uk/support-us/events/circuit-of-bath-walk.htm or by calling 01225 354656.
