There are many reasons that can lead to people becoming homeless and addressing their complex issues can prove complicated.
Julian House and the individuals they support are facing a chronic shortage of affordable move-on accommodation and rising rents, which leads to more people ending up on the streets, as well as crippling rises in the cost of life’s most basic commodities.
For their Christmas appeal, the charity wants to raise awareness that the people they support are often ordinary people who have fallen into difficult circumstances.
These can include domestic abuse, mental health issues, family breakdown, childhood trauma and addiction.
A short animation has been produced by Agency UK for the charity, to help generate vital donations. It demonstrates a common story in which financial struggles and problems at home can see someone fall into homelessness. You can watch it here.
