Great Pulteney Street in Bath has been closed to traffic for filming today, Thursday 1st August, for a new Netflix series starring Hollywood A-listers.

Preparations got under way yesterday, with parking suspended along both sides of the street and at Laura Place in connection with the production of a new interpretation of Agatha Christie’s The Seven Dials Mystery.

The cast for the three-part series includes Martin Freeman as Superintendent Battle, Helena Bonham-Carter as Lady Caterham and BAFTA Rising Star Award-winner Mia McKenna-Bruce as Lady Eileen ‘Bundle’ Brent.

The series has been penned by Broadchurch creator Chris Chibnall.

There are security guards and roadblocks at either end of Great Pulteney Street, which it is understood is doubling as a location in London in the mid-1920s.

One of the props we saw is a City of London sign referring to Platemere Road and Verlaine Street.

Modern street furniture was being covered up with wooden panelling.

Vintage cars have been parked towards the Holburne Museum end of the street in readiness for filming.

There was filming in Bath in June for the series when Martin Freeman was seen on set at Abbey Green.

He was also spotted filming in Bridewell Street in Bristol yesterday.

Great Pulteney Street will remain fully closed until 8pm this evening.

The D1 and D2X bus services are being diverted via North Parade Road and the A36 in both directions. Passengers are advised to board or alight at either Manvers Street or Forester Road bus stops.

The Holburne Museum, at the end of Great Pulteney Street, is one of the most recognisable buildings from the hit Netflix series Bridgerton thanks to its starring role as Lady Danbury’s house.
