Chief Fire Officer Simon Shilton, alongside Risk Reduction Manager Nikki Rice and Drone Lead Sean Perry, will be live on the social platform from 6pm to give residents behind-the-scenes knowledge of the fire service.
Chief Fire Officer Simon Shilton said: “We want to encourage local people to find out more about the Service.
“As Chief Fire Officer, I want to ensure that local people can learn more about their local fire service and by going live on Facebook, we hope to make this more accessible to those living in our community.”
Presentations will include an update from the Chief Fire Officer, an explanation on how you can keep your home safe with the new Home Fire Safety Check, and how downloading What3Words can help their drone team locate you in an emergency.
The presentations will be followed by a question and answer session.
Simon added: “It’s important you have a chance to ask us anything, whether that be about fire safety, recent incidents or perhaps why we’ve invested in a drone.
“This is your chance to have your say about your local fire and rescue service.”
Residents will also have the opportunity to ask their own questions about the fire service.
Those interested are encouraged to ask questions in advance and limited questions asked on the evening will also be answered.
If you have a question, submit it by noon on Friday 14th October, by sending an email to [email protected].
The session will be hosted live on Facebook on Monday 17th October at 6pm.
The presentations and Q&A will be recorded and published for viewing after the event.
