An event is set to be held in Bath offering those involved in the Homes for Ukraine sponsorship scheme the opportunity to discuss housing-related issues.

The event, being held by Bath & North East Somerset Council, is an opportunity for guests and hosts to find out more information on topics including re-matching to a new host, social housing and private renting.

There will also be information on the financial package that can be provided to Homes for Ukraine guests, along with useful information and advice on the costs of running a tenancy, how to source furniture, welfare and accessing benefits.

Anyone who is considering hosting is also invited to drop in and find out more about the sponsorship scheme.

The event will take place from 5pm to 7.30pm on 23rd May at the Guildhall, Bath, BA1 5AW.

It is a drop-in event with no booking required. Refreshments will be available.

Councillor Kevin Guy, Leader, Bath & North East Somerset Liberal Democrat Group, said: “This event is a great opportunity for guests from Ukraine, hosts and potential hosts to find out more about the housing aspects of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

“Our team will be on hand to provide lots of practical information and support that will help anyone taking part in the sponsorship scheme or thinking of doing so.

“More homes for people fleeing Ukraine are still needed, so if you are considering becoming a sponsor I’d encourage you to come along to our event.”
