When you volunteer at the Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) shop in Oldfield Park, Bath, you’ll be helping to brighten the lives of life-limited children from the area who are supported by CHSW’s Charlton Farm hospice.

From 26th September – 1st October 2016 each CHSW store is welcoming people to pop in and find out about how they can brighten lives by volunteering.

Volunteers are always surprised at the different things there are able to do when volunteering in a CHSW shop.

From being on the shop floor with customers, to being behind the scenes discovering the interesting items that are donated, to creating window displays or being a van drivers’ assistant on the road.

One CHSW volunteer said: “It’s like being one big family, I’ve met so many people and coming in to volunteer in the shop is the part of the week I look forward to most.”

Volunteers choose when and for how long they volunteer and it fits around their lives.

Each CHSW shop needs an average of 100 volunteer hours each week to keep the doors open and continue to raise funds for its three hospices across the South West.

Even an hour a week would help the charity with the expert care and support they provide for over 400 families throughout the region.

If volunteers are looking for further training and development, CHSW also offers NVQs and work experience. This is an ideal way to gain experience and develop skills to use into the future.

Drop in to your local CHSW shop between 26th September – 1st October to have a friendly chat about what volunteering involves.  You can contact CHSW on 01271 313319 or via [email protected].
