Cake lovers can rejoice as M&S Bath gears up to host a coffee morning with a difference, in aid of Macmillan’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning this Friday, 28th September.

The M&S Bath store will host a ‘Heroes and Villains’ themed coffee morning to raise funds for the charity, inviting customers to join them for the big day.

Colleagues at the store will also be daring to ‘Brave The Shave’ in a bid to raise money for the cause.

M&S is a long standing supporter of Macmillan Cancer Support, sponsoring the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, which helps raise crucial funds for people living with cancer and brings communities closer together, for the ninth consecutive year.

The funds raised ensure Macmillan professionals, such as nurses, occupational therapists and dieticians, are able to fully carry out their vital roles in local hospitals and within the local communities.

Matt Wood, Store Manager at M&S Bath, said: “We’ll have lots of fun activities happening at our World’s Biggest Coffee Morning event on Friday 28th September, and hope many of our customers will join us to raise a mug and enjoy a slice of cake to help people living with cancer.

“The annual event is a great excuse to get together with friends and family and raise money for a great cause at the same time!”

Since M&S’s partnership with Macmillan started, M&S customers and colleagues have helped to raise over £13 million for the charity, including £3.5 million in the last year alone.

The money raised helped to fund 65 vital Macmillan professional posts in 2018, bringing essential medical, practical and emotional support to cancer sufferers and their families.

A number of tasty treats are available for customers to purchase in Foodhalls throughout September, including a limited edition Macmillan ‘Colin the Caterpillar’ cake, with 10 percent of each sale going to Macmillan.

Matt Wood, Store Manager at M&S Bath, added: “The Macmillan Colin is sure to make his mark around the UK. He’s always been a firm favourite and it’s great that he’ll be helping boost our fundraising efforts this year.”

In addition, M&S cafes are also donating 5p from every coffee, tea, herbal tea and cake they sell.

Other products on sale in M&S Foodhalls throughout September, include Macmillan themed doughnuts, the much loved Victoria Sponge, Chocolate Fudge, Coffee and Walnut and Lemon Drizzle cakes, the Teatime cupcake selection, and a bespoke coffee and tea blend selection.

Limited edition Macmillan mugs will also be available in stores and online. 10 percent from each Macmillan Foodhall sale will go towards Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Cancer Support’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is taking place on Friday 28th September 2018.
