Bridgemead Residential and Nursing Home set to hold charity auction

The Bridgemead Residential and Nursing Home in Bath is holding a ‘money can’t buy’ charity auction on 7th March, to raise funds for the not-for-profit organisation.

Bridgemead is a not-for-profit residential and nursing home in St John’s Road, Bathwick, which also offers day and respite care to local residents.

It is a ‘home from home’ where vulnerable older people are cherished and enabled to live fruitful lives. A recent visitor, Lord Foster of Bath, said: “At Bridgemead there is always something going on, there are a lot of activities to engage people.

“People always have a chance to do new things rather than just fade away. They are given care and support to get on and do the things they really want to do. I love this place.”

The charity auction is being held at the Gainsborough Hotel on 7th March, by invitation only.

Lots offered include:

  1. Private tour behind the scenes at Bath Abbey for 4;
  2. Tea for 4 in the Mayor’s Parlour in the Guildhall;
  3. Masterclass in journalism by Bel Mooney;
  4. First night tickets and drinks with the cast of ‘Quartet’ at Theatre Royal for 2;
  5. Tour of the iconic Lloyds of London insurance building and lunch for 2 at City restaurant, Simpsons;
  6. Tea on the terrace and tour of House of Commons with Wera Hobhouse for 4;
  7. Tour behind the scenes at the Roman Baths with Stephen Bird, Head of Heritage Services for 8;
  8. Westminster experience for 4 with Lord Foster of Bath;
  9. Behind the scenes at the Holburne Museum with Director Chris Stevens for 4.

Other prizes include a week in Cornwall for 4, a week in Marbella for 8, a group Yoga session for 6, a framed signed current season Bath Rugby shirt, an original oil painting by Bath artist Diane Taylor, Spa day for 2 at Royal Crescent Hotel, Sunday lunch for 2 at the Boatman, Tea for 2 at No15, Great Pulteney Street, Golf day for 4 at the Manor House Golf Club.
