A charity concert, organised by the Chairman of Bath & North East Somerset Council Councillor Alan Hale, which was due to be held at the weekend had to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
Councillor Alan Hale had organised the fundraising event to take place on Saturday, 4th February, at The Space, Keynsham.
The event, which was raising money for the Chairman’s charities – The Rice Institute, Butterflies Haven and Designability – had to be cancelled due to poor ticket sales.
Councillor Hale said: “It’s really disappointing that we had to cancel this event as it was hoped that it would raise vital funds for my selected charities.
“Anyone who has already bought a ticket will be offered a full refund. We hope to organise two further events in aid of these worthwhile causes in the near future.”
The charities the Chairman is supporting include:
- The Rice Institute: The Institute, based at the Royal United Hospital, carries out a variety of work in connection with dementia including diagnosis, treatment and support for sufferers.
- Butterflies Haven: Provides support, advice and social activity to those who are affected by Asperger’s/Autism.
- Designability: Again based at the Royal United Hospital, Designs and builds all manner of aids for a whole variety of needs. They have designed and now build small powered wheelchairs for children up to five years of age who have no or limited mobility.
Tickets already purchased will automatically be refunded.
