Bath music man Grenville Jones met his namesake in Halifax, Nova Scotia earlier this week, after they discovered each other on social media.
The two Grenvilles met via social media and Grenville from Nova Scotia watched with great interest the musical activities of his English namesake.
On Christmas Day last year an invitation was sent from Grenville to Grenville saying:
“Hi would you like to bring one of your choirs to Nova Scotia in 2015?”
The aptly named Grenville Choir arrived in Halifax on Sunday and are performing in a number of concerts in Nova Scotia this week.
The choir numbers 42 singers and they are drawn from Grenville’s local choirs including members of the Bath Welcome Choir, the Bath Good Afternoon Choir, Bath Male Choir and the Devizes Good Afternoon Choir.
“We have spoken on the phone and have exchanged emails but this was the very first face to face meeting and it was fantastic to meet another Grenville,” said Grenville.
