The award-winning Natural Theatre Company has launched a brand-new theatre school, giving adults the chance to take part in a number of classes.
The adult classes will begin as a 10 week programme led by acclaimed Theatre Director Andy Burden.
The sessions are for anyone who enjoys performing, has an interest in theatre, or would like to try something new and engaging.
The classes will give attendees the chance to get out from under their desks, push aside their paperwork, and have fun.
Naturals Director Andy Burden said: “Adults have often approached us saying how much fun they’ve had at our workshops and asking when they can do this again.
“It seemed only natural that we expand our work to include Performance and Theatre Skills for over 18s.
“These classes will be an opportunity for people to develop acting skills, build self-confidence, and enjoy some stress-free fun”.
In addition to this new adult group, the Natural Theatre Company also offer a Young People’s Company.
These classes, for 11-18-year olds, provide young people with the chance to learn from professional actors, play with costumes, and try new types of performance – no scripts required.
Participation Manager Mark Bishop said: “As drama is no longer part of the curriculum many young people need a place they can express themselves, let off some creative steam, and have fun.
“Our classes for 11-18-year olds do just that, whilst also teaching valuable skills such as team work and communication”.
In previous years the Young People’s Company from the Natural Theatre School have performed at major events including the 250th Anniversary of the Royal Crescent and the Roads to Recovery project which included a performance in Queen Square.
They have also performed with professional actors, recorded audio for a feature film, and appeared on BBC Points West.
