The American Museum’s gardens are to remain open in November for the first time, from 30th October to 20th November, ahead of their upcoming Christmas celebrations.
The gardens will be open every day, except Mondays, as part of a special gardens-only opening prior to the Museum’s Christmas celebrations.
Drop-in activities will be held for the first week of November as part of Bath’s Museums Week.
The activities will be free, and Discovery Card holders will be able to visit the gardens free of charge during Museum’s Week.
Head of Visitor Experience, Jon Ducker said: “We want to give visitors plenty of time to visit the South West’s newest garden experience.
“You’ll be able to wander along the winding way, tread in the footsteps of George Washington in the Mount Vernon Garden, and surround yourself with amazing views and trees, plants and shrubs.
“You’ll be able to explore with your four-legged friend too and relax in the warmth of the Orangery Café with coffee and cookies and other American-inspired tasty treats.”
The Museum has recently launched a £2 million pound ‘New American Garden’. Opened by Alan Titchmarsh in September, the garden features 15,000 new plants, new landscaping, including an accessible path and amphitheatre.
With the addition of the New American Garden, the grounds now boast the largest collection of American horticultural features in the United Kingdom.
The New American Garden is the first European commission for Washington DC-based landscape architects Oehme, van Sweden (OvS).
The gardens and café will be open from 11am – 4pm, with last admission to the garden at 3pm. Normal gardens-only tickets apply.
