The annual Wag Walk fundraiser in aid of Bath Cats and Dogs Home was attended by over 80 walkers and their dogs, the charity has said.

TV presenter and celebrity vet Dr James Greenwood attended the event with his Labrador Dolly, and he spoke to walkers before the start of the walk about why animal rescue centres like Bath Cats and Dogs Home are doing such essential work.
Dr Greenwood said: “My Labrador, Dolly and I greatly enjoyed meeting the dogs and walkers at the Wag Walk.
“Rescue centres are a lifeline for animals and pet owners in these tough times and what strikes me about Bath Cats and Dogs Home is their very non-judgemental approach to animal rescue, their incredible veterinary team working behind the scenes in their vet suite and their brilliant rehoming team matching the right animals with the right owner.
“We can’t underestimate how important rescue charities are for animal welfare so please support them if you can.”
The Wag Walk was sponsored by Bath Vets and has raised funds for the care of vulnerable cats and dogs.
The two walking routes featured trails through the Claverton area, with a choice of a 2-mile flat route close to the home or a 5-mile route along the National Trust Bath Skyline.
All dogs who took part wore their bright orange ‘Wag Walk’ doggie bandanas as a memento of the day.
The walk finished off back at the grounds of Bath Cats and Dogs Home, where walkers collected their dog-friendly goodie bags and enjoyed refreshments.

Bath Cats and Dogs Home rescues, rehabilitates and re-homes cats and dogs who are unwanted, neglected, or mistreated, taking in animals from Bath and North-East Somerset and parts of Somerset and Wiltshire.
The charity needs to raise over £2 million every year to continue its animal welfare work, both at the home and in the local community.
The top fundraisers received a special Bath Cats and Dogs Home branded lead cover.

“Thank you to everyone who took part and to all our volunteers who supported the event, we are hugely grateful for the funds raised to care for animals in need.”
Emma Wyatt, from Box, who is a supporter of Bath Cats and Dogs Home said: “I loved taking part in the Wag Walk with my partner and three Whippets.
“I’ve long been a supporter of the charity, and so were my parents who used to walk dogs from the Home when I was younger.
“I would say absolutely go for it if you’re thinking of adopting, always try and rescue before anything else because there are so many amazing dogs in need of a caring home.”
