On Tuesday 12th June, Bath Abbey will be hosting an enchanting evening of choral music sung by a massed children’s choir of 300 pupils drawn from different primary schools in Bath.
The children are all part of the Abbey’s Schools’ Singing Programme, which brings the joy of singing to thousands of schoolchildren in Bath and the surrounding areas.
When the War Came, which will begin at 6.30pm, tells the story of six young people from a small village whose lives are changed forever when the Great War comes to them.
Tickets are available to buy from the Bath Box Office.
The aim of the Schools’ Singing Programme is to promote choral singing in schools which in turn, has a positive impact on the children’s overall attitudes and behaviour, helping to build their confidence, concentration, and teamwork skills and challenges them intellectually and musically.
Since it was first established eight years ago, the Abbey Schools’ Singing Programme has reached over 8,000 school children across Bath and North East Somerset.
