Young people across the Bath area are being offered the chance to win a place at the UK UNESCO World Heritage Youth Summit 2015 in Blaenavon, taking place later this year.

The summit takes place from 20th-22nd October and will welcome around 180 youth representatives from all over the UK.

They will have an opportunity to explore historical sites of global importance such as Big Pit and the Blaenavon Ironworks, walk the landscape, debate global heritage, and attend a conference dinner and disco.

To be in with a chance to win, groups of four young people aged between 13-17 (or up to 25 if in special education), must create a piece of artwork based on the City of Bath World Heritage Site that tackles the question ‘How can we use World Heritage to change the place we live in for the better?’

Entries can be in the form of a piece of creative writing, a performance, visual art, or film and digital media.

The winners will receive two night’s free accommodation for themselves plus one adult, food, all activities at the summit, and a goody bag and t-shirt.

The winners will go forward to a national competition to win membership of CADW granting free access to historical sites across the UK and a tablet.

The deadline for entries is 24th July 2015.

For more information on the summit and to enter the competition contact visit www.visitblaenavon.co.uk
