Plans for a new brasserie in the city centre have been revealed.

The former Daisy & Bean premises on Gay Street
The Beagle on Gay Street will be a 58-seater restaurant in what was the Daisy & Bean Bakeshop.
Internal and external works are being proposed at No. 35 Gay Street, which is a Grade II* listed building.
A statement submitted to Bath & North East Somerset Council with the plans says: “The city lacks vintage style hospitality interiors for residents and visitors alike. Restaurants in the casual dining sector have leaned to modern international.
“As the demand for authenticity grows and pride in one’s own country swells, the arrival of The Beagle on Gay Street is well timed.”
It adds that The Beagle “will resemble a classically styled home, featuring the sort of pre-loved brown furniture you might find there, e.g., mahogany linen press, sideboard. Crockery and cutlery will be vintage and glassware too.”
It is proposed that the kitchen will be open to the customer dining area, “like a family home”.
The restaurant will serve “mostly French and British classics to suit the classic building”.
The proposed opening hours are from 10am to 8pm, with late evening dining restricted to private events and special invitation tasting menus.
Both planning permission and listed building consent are being sought.
The planning reference is 25/04923/FUL and the deadline for comments is 26th March.
