The Old Crown pub on Crown Hill Road in Weston village has reopened following a £165,000 makeover by pub owner Greene King Pub Partners and new publicans Daniel and Simona Matica.
Husband and wife team Daniel and Simona, who have worked in the pub trade for nearly 30 years, also run The Claremont on Claremont Road in Bath.
The £165,000 investment has been used to completely revamp the pub both inside and out, including new bathroom facilities, lighting and accommodation.
The reopening of the pub has also created 10 new local jobs.
As part of the revamp of the pub, a new kitchen is being installed. Once finished, Daniel and Simona plan to serve pizzas and other hot food at the pub.
Commenting on their new pub, Daniel and Simona said: “We cannot wait to welcome people into our new pub, The Old Crown on Crown Hill road!
“The pub has been completely revamped inside and out, making it much more modern and luxurious.
“We love running our other pub in Bath, so when the opportunity came up to also run The Old Crown we knew we just had to go for it!”
Simeon Baker, Business Development Manager at Greene King Pub Partners, added: “Daniel and Simona have thirty years experience of running pubs and already run another local pub in Bath.
“They know what the people of Bath want from a pub and I have no doubt The Old Crown will soon become a community favourite under their leadership!”
