The popular Green Street House Spa in Bath is to close at the end of the summer following the retirement of its owner, after 15 successful years of business.
The Green Street-based business, which has built up a strong local customer base, is closing to allow owner Betsi Hughes to pursue other new interests.
Ms Hughes launched the spa in 2003 with a friend and the pair appeared on an episode of the Channel 4 programme Risking It All about their new business venture.
Over the years Green Street House Spa has made a name for itself by offering luxury treatments and beauty products.
“It’s been such an adventure and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it but after 15 years the time is right to move onto the next phase of my life and spend more time with family and enjoying our holiday home in the West Indies,” said Ms Hughes.
She added: “I want to say a huge thank you to all of my loyal customers over the last 15 years. Your continued support has meant so much and I’ve enjoyed being part of your lives, even in just a small way.”
Green Street House is set to close mid September and anyone who has bought a gift voucher for the spa needs to make sure they use it before this date.
Ms Hughes said she would consider an offer for the business should the right person be interested.
“It would be great if Green Street House could continue,” Ms Hughes said.
“The business has done very well over the years and there is a real opportunity for someone to continue to build on the successes we have had and ensure that Green Street House Spa continues to thrive in the future.”
