Avon and Somerset Police have named the man who died following an assault in Radstock last weekend as 50-year-old Philip Jones, and have now charged a man with his murder.
Philip was found at a property in Huish Court following reports of an assault at around 2.30am on Saturday 16th June.
A murder enquiry was launched and six people have since been arrested in connection with the incident.
Philip’s family say they are shocked and saddened by their sudden loss. They have asked for their privacy to be respected at this time so that they can grieve and come to terms with the loss of Philip.
Police have now charged a 32-year-old man with murder in connection with the death of Mr Jones.
A post mortem examination confirmed he died of multiple stab wounds.
Specialist officers are providing his family with support.
Meshach Caven-Thompson, of Abbey Church Yard in Bath, was charged last night and remains in custody.
He will appear at Bath Magistrates’ Court this morning, 22nd June.
