Guests recently celebrated the official opening of luxury care home Gracewell of Bath, launched with a spectacular VIP ceremony featuring thrilling entertainment and free-flowing champagne.

Smiles and laughter dominated as guests enjoyed a live performance from a string quartet, who played a wide range of music from Ravel’s Bolero to Bach.

They were also treated to an array of stirring songs by Megan O’Dowd, a female vocalist, who combined her own songwriting with some popular classics.

Councillor Alan Hale shared a personal story of his mother’s experiences in care, lavishing praise on the home and its dedicated staff ahead of the official opening.

The ribbon was cut by one of the care home’s founding members, Mrs Jill Goldbold.

Alongside the live entertainment and delicious bubbly, the 68 guests were able to enjoy games on the lawn, including Giant Jenga and Connect Four.

The home in Bath is the 20th to be opened by Gracewell Healthcare and will uphold Gracewell’s commitment to the provision of personalised care focused on a range of individual needs, including dementia care, respite care, and nursing. Residents have begun to move into the home this week.

The VIP launch was the first of many events to be held at Gracewell of Bath, in line with the active and social environment that Gracewell homes promote.

Residents are encouraged to partake in a range of activities that allow them to develop their talents and enjoy themselves in equal measure.

Michael Burke, Senior Director of Operations for Gracewell Healthcare, said: “The opening ceremony at Gracewell of Bath was a fitting way to launch a high-quality care home dedicated to ensuring happy, fulfilled lives for its residents.

“We are delighted that the home is joining our community of outstanding care providers, and look forward to seeing everyone move in.”

Carol Britton, Home Manager at Gracewell of Bath, said: “Our VIP launch event was a wonderful way to welcome residents to the home, and celebrate the first step on our journey as an exceptional provider of care.

“The mix of fun, laughter, entertainment and socialising was a sign of things to come at our home, where staff will make sure that residents can always share interests with one another, enhance their skills, or just have a good time!”
