A new street food market will be coming to Kingsmead Square during the festive season, complementing the immensely popular Bath Christmas Market just a short walk away.
The Georgian square will play host to locally produced food from some of the South West’s most exciting street food traders serving up lunch and dinner time treats such as Cantonese dumplings, Alpine style mac and cheese, Valencian paella, crispy chilli squid and much more.
Follow the aroma of delicious street food from the lively throng of the Bath Christmas Market and you’ll find yourself in the relaxing haven of Kingsmead Square.
Treat yourself to some mouth-watering street food from around the world and sip on a glass of mulled wine whilst listening to live music from exciting local artists.
Plenty of covered seating will be provided, ensuring it’s the perfect way to recharge before heading back to do more shopping, or to unwind with friends and family once the shopping is completed.
Visitors to the city can enjoy the atmosphere of Kingsmead Square which is quickly developing a reputation as a lively hub of independent traders and a vibrant food and drink quarter.
With a concentration of exciting restaurants and coffee shops already surrounding the Square, this will be Bath’s go-to street food destination this Christmas.
The Festive Street Food Market will take place every Friday and Saturday during the Bath Christmas Market.
The event is being promoted by HPH Ltd and CASUS Events in collaboration with Visit Bath and Bath and North East Somerset Council.
Bristol-based CASUS has a strong reputation for bringing together the best street food traders, having set up the highly successful weekly Temple Quay Market five years ago and more recently Finzels Reach Market, both in Bristol.
Sophie Bowden, Co-director of CASUS Events said: “This will be our first outing in Bath having previously concentrated on delivering food events in Bristol and we couldn’t be more excited about bringing a street food market to Kingsmead Square this Christmas.
“The square is not only a beautiful part of the city but it’s gaining a reputation for food and drink and we can’t wait to build on that by providing a destination for relaxation and good food during the festive season.”
Lindsay Holdoway, Managing Director of HPH Ltd added: “The Christmas Street Food Market will be a great opportunity for people to spend more time in Kingsmead Square, enjoying not just the range of street food on offer but also discovering the fantastic array of independent traders in the area.
“The Bath Christmas Market is a unique and popular experience which draws in people from around the world. We’re looking forward to adding another experience for visitors and local people alike to enjoy.”
